The first Lab Night is already behind us!

For the first time ever, on October 10, 2015, several institutions and companies in Wroclaw opened their tightly guarded laboratories to the public. Science enthusiasts and tech geeks could watch scientists at work and learn about what they do and how their work contributes to the company’s business.

Lab Night is a project originated by Nokia and organized in collaboration with Wroclaw Research Center EIT+. The hosts include: 3M, International Laboratory of High Magnetic Fields and Low Temperatures (Międzynarodowe Laboratorium Silnych Pól Magnetycznych i Niskich Temperatur), Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy), Crime Lab at the Wroclaw Police Headquarters (Komenda Policji z Laboratorium Kryminalistyki), Wroclaw Technology Park (Wrocławski Park Technologiczny), Pro Mathematica Foundation (Fundacja Pro Mathematica), and Humanitarium Educational Theme Park (Ogrody Doświadczeń. Humanitarium).

Lab Night at Nokia

Visitors at Nokia could learn about different stages of communication technology development. They could also see state-of the-art equipment such as climatic chambers and the newest generation measuring devices (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators). Nokia also launched a collection of antique phones, along with the history of telecommunications, in an exhibition organized in collaboration with the Wroclaw Museum of Post and Telecommunication (Muzeum Poczty i Telekomunikacji we Wrocławiu).
